PARTICIPATION OF NAPP COFFEE PRODUCER AT TEMU KOPI 2018 IN BALI, INDONESIA
‘MOVING COFFEE FORWARD’
NAPP along with one of its certified Coffee Producer ( Koperasi Permata Gayo), participated at the fifth Annual Temu Kopi, Indonesian Coffee Forum sponsored by Lutheran World Relief and Fairtrade International, held from 12th to 13th Sep at Bali, Indonesia.
The forum convenes key players in the Indonesian coffee value chain, from tree to cup (including producers, exporters, importers, buyers and roasters) to connect with representatives of the public and non-profit sectors to build mutually beneficial business relationships.
It included interesting methods such as informative presentations, panel discussions and simulations exploring the sector’s successes, challenges and opportunities. The sessions were led by eminent experts – Kim Elena Lonescu, Chief Sustainability Officer for the Specialty Coffee Association as the Key Note Speaker, Chairman of Permata Gayo Cooperative who explained on the cost structure of the coffee from farmers to exporter and also from importer to roaster, followed by a presentation from the General Manager of NAPP- Southeast Asia on how NAPP makes provisions and provides various available supports to coffee producers.
The Program also covered various key topics on future of specialty coffee, youth farmers and financial supports led by other speakers. The highlight of the event was coffee cupping session, field visit and price distribution simulation.
The forum was attended by participants from various group of the sector who all works towards supporting the coffee developments in Indonesia :-farmer groups, importers, goverment officials and various NGOs.
