A Memorandum of Collaboration between Fairtrade Network of Asia & Pacific Producers (NAPP) and Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI)  Multan was signed on 29 August, 2022 with an objective to collaborate in the cultivation of Organic Cotton Production in Pakistan and conduct training programs for insect pests and disease management and soil nutrient management.

The collaborative agreement was signed by Sanjeet Singh Khurana; CEO – Fairtrade NAPP and  Dr. Zahid Mahmood, Director CCRI Multan, and Mr. Assad Bajwa, Chairman, of Fairtrade Network Association Pakistan.

This mutual collaboration will bring new opportunities for organic cotton cultivation which will definitely add economic upliftment of the small-scale farmers-  Dr Zahid, Director Central Cotton Research Institute –Multan

It is indeed an encouragement to build public private partnership under Fairtrade NAPP, and we all should promote research institutes collaborations and it should be expand to other products as well for the broader benefits in productions and wellbeing of the workers and farmers working for Fairtrade systems in Pakistan.
